Here is where you can find out what I’m reading, what I’m wanting to read, and how disorganised I am at getting my reading in any kind of order.

Currently Reading:

  • George R. R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
  • Michael Horton, Christless Christianity

Three books that will change your life (aside from the Scriptures):

  • John Bunyan, The Pilgrim’s Progress - I could read this a hundred times and still not mine it dry. Bunyan’s love for Christ and the life He calls us to shines through in every word. God has blessed His church greatly through this work. You should be read before you get to heaven, because heaven’s library will have no copies left on the shelves!
  • Thomas Watson, The Godly Man’s Picture - This book changed my life, at least. Watson was also a Puritan writer, who writes in a very accessible way. His illustrations bring his points to life as he calls believers to view his pencil sketch of what a godly Christian should look like.
  • John Owen, The Mortification of Sin – Wow… three Puritan authors. This book is a meditation on Romans 8:13 – “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death [mortify - KJV] the deeds of the body, you will live.” A wonderful grace-filled book, that will focus you on the Lord Jesus as you seek to rid yourself of everything that entangles and run the race set before you. “Set your faith at work on Christ for the killing of your sins.”

  1. John Piper’s books like Desiring God and Don’t Waste Your Life have ministered to me. :D

  2. I love John Piper. His lecture series on Men of Whom the World Wasn’t Worthy was absolutely fantastic.

Desiring God is one of those books I really want to read, and every time I try I get about quarter of the way through and get sidetracked. ARG!

  3. Speaking of getting sidetracked, I have started John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress” (which, I believe, you and your wife are now reading) some time ago, but I haven’t really managed to finish it. What I was able to finish though was the children’s version of the book when I was 12, and I remembered having enjoyed it immensely.

By the way, would it be possibe if I link you to my blog?
